UK - London - Londoners watch the Shard during inauguration laser show

London 5/7/12. Seen from a park in south London, locals watch with increasing disappointment across to an anti climactic laser show across London during the inauguration of the capital's newest addition to its skyline, the Qatari-financed skyscraper, the Shard, the tallest building in western Europe. The light show was supposed to be visible across the capital and Londoners gathered in high points to see the spectacle. Renzo Piano's Shard is a 310m (1,016ft) tapering steel structure in the heart of the London borough of Southwark.
