  • A curator inspects art canvasses leaning against gallery walls in the Royal Academy (RA) for its 'The Glory of Venice: Art in the Eighteenth Century' exhibition, a collection of important works of art by Italian artists such as Tiepolo, Canaletto, Piranesi, Piazzetta, and Guardi. In the privacy of the closed gallery, a lady official from the RA is bending down, resting her hands on knees and scrutinizing for possible damage after their removal from travel packing crates, whilst on the floor before hanging for public view. We see the largest picture on the right (Luca Carlevaris, The Bucintore Departing from S. Marco. 1710) of the Grand Canal in Venice and on the left is 'Domenico Tiepolo, The Institution of the Eucharist, 1753'. Polished wooden parquet flooring is protected by blocks that support the weight of each work of priceless art.

  • The painting by Paul Rubens on the ceiling of Banqueting House, on 17th September 2017, in Whitehall, Westminster, London, England. The ceiling of the Banqueting House is a masterpiece and the only surviving in-situ ceiling painting by Flemish artist, Sir Peter Paul Rubens. It is also one of the most famous works from the golden age of painting. The canvases were painted by Rubens and installed in the hall in 1636. The three main canvasses depict The Union of the Crowns, The Apotheosis of James I and The Peaceful Reign of James I. Most likely commissioned by King Charles I in 1629-30, this ceiling was one of his last sights before he was executed on a scaffold outside on Whitehall in 1649.

  • The landscape painter Leo Mancini-Hresko constructs a view on canvass of the Ponte Santa Trinita in Florence. Born in Boston, Leo currently teaches painting and drawing, both privately in his studio in Piazzale Donatello and for The Florence Academy of Art. Ponte Santa Trinita was constructed by the Florentine architect Bartolomeo Ammanati from 1567 to 1569. Its site, downstream of the equally remarkable Ponte Vecchio,[2] is a major link in the medieval street plan of Florence, which has been bridged at this site since the thirteenth century. The bridge was destroyed in 1944 by retreating German troops but reconstructed in 1958 with original stones raised from the Arno or taken from the same quarry, under the direction of the architect Riccardo Gizdulich and the engineer Emilio Brizzi.
