  • In front of amused elderly passers-by, street performers strut their stuff during a Gay Pride parade of homosexuals and transgender cross-dressers. One wears a bright red and gold costume with feathers just off the road while another wears a dancer's sequined leotard. Gay pride or LGBT pride is the positive stance against discrimination and violence toward lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people to promote their self-affirmation, dignity, equality rights, increase their visibility as a social group, build community, and celebrate sexual diversity and gender variance.

  • Seen from a low angle inside their open-top classic American car, two openly gay men cuddle up close to look into each other's eyes while holding their favourite cans of Websters Yorkshire bitter (beer). They are attending a classic car rally in Brighton during a Gay Pride festival, that this English seaside town regularly hosts during the hot south coast summers. The large 60s steering wheel is seen in the foreground and the vehicle's leather seat looks shiny clean against the bright light. There is a classic car magazine resting on one man's knee and they are clearly mad about this era of motor transportation.

  • Half-way across the Gulf of Mexico, between Miami and Cancun in Mexico, two of Carnival Cruise's Fun Ship Ecstasy's female passengers are at a small circular pool on the Sun Deck to enjoy the first few days sailing on the tropical seas. The two girl friends frolic around the poolside exposing, tanned skin under a baking hot tropical sun at its zenith, directly overhead at mid-day. Carnival's ships are known for their Las Vegas decor and entertainment, calling its vessels Fun Ships. The young lady in the pool wears a bikini featuring a patriotic Stars and Stripes and cups her hands to coax her friend to too but she sits reluctantly on the edge. The MS Ecstasy is a Fantasy class cruise ship featuring two pools, whirlpools, a variety of dining options, nightclubs, a casino, and duty-free shopping.

  • A large, manly woman sips a pint of lager during a darts tournament where she competes in an England Open tournament at the Bunn Leisure Holiday Park in Selsey, near Chichester on the south coast of England. Holding three darts with a Union Jack flags on the 'flights', her glass covers her face but we see her rings and bracelet and her ample belly after a life of beer and cigarettes in pubs like this. A great deal of alcohol (mostly lager, but also Coke) is consumed during darts tournaments although smoking in public places has now been banned in the UK, including pubs and bars. This audience seemed to consist largely of very large lesbian women from working families which seems to suggest that the pub (and alcohol) is still the place where women are attracted to the game of darts. ..

  • A detail from the oversized artwork entitled Brotherhood Kiss (Bruderkuss) by Dmitry Vrubel that once adorned a section of the notorious Berlin Wall in western Germany Russian. Two seemingly gay men are kissing on the lips but this is one of the most famous paintings - a symbol of a divided Europe during the Cold War. It shows Communist Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev kissing his East German (DDR) counterpart Erich Honecker, which was ultimately copied on to coffee cups and T-shirts across the world before being destroyed by the authorities. The artist was angry but he says he will paint a new image which was derived from a photograph of the two leaders taken 1979 but became a potent symbol of Communism's corruption and ultimate failure.

  • An adult business window displays the naughty underwear worn by five mannequin models of a Soho sex shop on Old Compton Street in London's West End. Tilted slightly to the left, we see the 5 models posing in various positions of suggestive stances, all demonstrating the shop's array of erotic clothing for the Good Time Girl! On the far right is the artwork of a topless woman, wearing only knee-length stockings. See from behind, the line-drawing of the female suggests a dancer on a Parisian stage act such as the Folies Bergere or Paradis Latin - variety performances for the male admirer. She looks over her left shoulder as if to wink in our direction, all part of the illusion of coquettish desire and greedy eroticism. Old Compton Street is known for cafes, bars and especially the gay, trans-gender scene and for sellers of erotic toy 'accessories'!
