  • The Fleet Street branch of bookseller Waterstone's has its stock of covers and titles on display in afternoon sunlight. The store's logo and brand name is overhead at the shop's entrance and sunlight shines onto the lower shelves containing the literature on sale. Waterstone's is a British book specialist established in 1982 by Tim Waterstone that employs around 4,500 staff throughout the United Kingdom and Europe. As well as the Waterstone's brand, the group owns the London bookseller Hatchards, founded in 1797 and Irish store Hodges Figgis, founded in 1768, retaining these names due to their historical connections.

  • Beneath rusting railings is the name of Hotel Serra, the faded grandeur of a once-grand establishment, on 17th July 2016, in the spa resort of Luso, Portugal. In the 11th century, Luso was a sleepy village linked to a monastery in the hills near Coimbra but it became a lively spa resort in the 1700s as its hot water springs became a focus for tourism. The waters here are said to have therapeutic value in the treatment for bad circulation, muscle tone, rheumatism and renal problems. (Photo by Richard Baker / In Pictures via Getty Images)

  • A young man strides past the wall and name of the London Stock Exchange in the City of London. Walking fast past this financial institution, we see the young man's shadow on the wall beneath the name on the exterior wall. Three years after the so-called Big Bang in 1986 , this location at the old Stock Exchange Tower became redundant with the advent of the Big Bang, which deregulated many of the Stock Exchange's activities as it enabled an increased use of computerised systems that allowed dealing rooms to take precedence over face to face trading. Thus, in 2004, the House moved to a brand new headquarters in Paternoster Square, close to St Paul's Cathedral.

  • An old City of London street sign for Poultry EC2 beneath a rusting police bylaws sign on a late 1980s brick wall. Before the older signage was replaced in the mid-1990s for more modern architecture, these signs will have disappeared or available through vintage auctions. Poultry is a short street in the City of London. It is an eastern continuation of Cheapside, between Old Jewry and Mansion House Street, near Bank junction. It takes its name, like other medieval roads nearby such as Milk Street and Bread Street, from the various produce once sold at Cheapside, meaning "market-place" in Old English. The street gave its name to a prison, Poultry Compter, once located there.

  • During a time-exposure of a few seconds, the ambient neon and natural evening light of Miami Beach's Ocean Drive are mixed together to give an atmospheric mood of vitality, bustle and excitement in this tropical city. The vertical-aligned name of the famous Colony Hotel is seen through the darkened window of an SUV (4x4). Glowing pinks and blues are vivid in this scene where beautiful people and expensive cars cruise along slowly, each parading bodywork and personality. Palm trees sway about in the coastal breeze, blurring during the exposure and making them ghostly against the fading sky of early evening. This is vibrant district of Miami, Florida. The place to hang-out and be noticed.

The national flag makes an appearance too, the day after Portugal won the final against France in the Euro 2016 football tournament. Alfama partly has its roots from Moorish influences and is the oldest district of Lisbon. Its name comes from the Arabic Al-hamma but could also be derived from the Arabic word Alfamm, meaning the "mouth" in Arabic. (Photo by Richard Baker / In Pictures via Getty Images)

After World War II ended in 1945, Lasko was the fifth-largest in Yugoslavia, and by 1991 it was the largest among 28 Yugoslav breweries. It lost much of the Yugoslav market in 1991 after Slovenia declared independence and the resulting Ten-Day War, although sales rebounded during the 1990s. In 2016 Lasko and Union were formally merged into Pivovarna Lasko Union under the owner Heineken.
