  • Viewed from a low angle, an unidentified youth is seen spraying graffiti art on to a wall in the Notting Hill area of West London, England. We see his partially-obscured face lit from behind with a strong amount of flash which throws a well-defined shadow of his hand holding a spray can. It is a chilly night and the boy's breath is seen against the frosty night air. His graffiti art has taken him some hours to spray on this white wall and shows a glossy finish. The picture is anonymous because of the young man's face is unseen and generic, because we don't see where the wall might be located.

  • With blood and guts on the blue deck, a fisherman from the Maldives hoses down a yellow fin tuna on the floor of a dhoni boat in the Indian Ocean. After clubbing it death, he has removed its respiratory organs with sharp knives and washes it down with a hose. Next it will be plunged into ice containers to cool the flesh, reducing the risk of self-deteriorating flushed blood which renders it unfit for consumption under EU law (its live internal core temperature is 40 degrees centigrade). When as many fish have been caught (often weighing 50kg) before dark using hand and line method, rather than nets, the boat presses on to the processing factory at Himmafushi where they're filleted and boxed for export to Europe and in particular, for UK supermarkets like Sainsbury's.

  • Ducking under the falling spray from a giant wave, a passer-by experience the force of nature from a storm off the coasts of southern England - here at the Port of Dover, Kent. As the water hits the sea defence wall, the seaside town is battered by southerly winds that bring with them huge breakers across the promenade. Adventurous and foolhardy people brave these conditions and stay for as long as possible at the railings then jump out at the last moment before getting doused in salt spray. This man carries on walking and thinks that by bending down, the sea will pass overhead.

  • Graffiti has been sprayed in red with aerosol on the wall of an estate agent in Herne Hill, South London England. "Homes for the Homeless, not Yuppies" it reads along with the Anarchists' Circle-A symbol, meaning that housing should be made available for families needing a roof over their heads, rather than overpricing properties for the middle-classes buying for profit and investment. We see the writing on the wall beneath pictures in windows of houses and flats in the SE24 area where prices are posted along with details of the buildings. The house-buying market climbs according to demand in areas of the city such as this, forcing up values which are out of reach to ordinary, working people unable to climb the property ladder.
