Southwark Council’s development partner, Lendlease is regenerating over 28 acres across three sites at the heart of Elephant & Castle, in what is the latest major regeneration opportunity in zone 1 London. The vision for the £1.5 billion regeneration is to build on the area’s strengths and vibrant character in order to re-establish Elephant & Castle as one of London’s most flourishing urban quarters. The Elephant & Castle regeneration is of a scale rarely seen in central London and includes almost 3,000 new homes, plus office, retail, community, leisure and restaurant space.

  • Two Catholic nuns from the Asia region have walked from St Peter's Square in Vatican City, though Piazza Pio XII and are continuing down the wide street called Via della Conciliazione. Dressed in fine religious gowns complete with beautiful sashes around the waste they walk in step past a shop called Galleria Savelli that sells religious trinkets and other tourist ephemera. Sat basking in the sun is a dalmatian dog with its coat of dark spots and white skin as clean as the nuns' long dresses. Near the centre of the picture are the postcards of the Cisteen chapel and of Pope John Paul II who is seen waving at various Papal events. Also spotless is the Roman pavement which has been swept and cleaned very recently. In the distance is the magnificant Basilica di San Pietro from where the Pope addresses the weekly crowds. .

  • South Londoners out for a late-afternoon walk with their pet dogs, enjoying the last sunlight during the second lockdown of the Cornavirus pandemic, in Brockwell Park, on 19th November 2020, in Lambeth, London, England.

  • A lady protects herself from a mid-day summer summer sun with a brightly coloured parasol brolley. Oblivious to the viewer, she balances her lunch snack on her lap with toes pointing inwards, exposed to the hot solar rays. Meanwhile, she holds on tight to her eager pet poodle dog who is straining on its leash, wanting to go for a walk along the largely unpopulated promenade in this Devon resort, otherwise known as the English Riviera. But splashes of white paint (from the painted beach huts) have been left on the pavement. It is a horrible place to sit in the sun and her partner has left her alone to sit on her sun lounger, leaving the second chair vacant.

  • The morning after Saturday night crowds of young peoples' nightlife beach parties, their litter and rubbish from the night before stretches across the coastal paths and shingle, locals wanting a quiet morning walk are confronted by a mess along the sea wall, on 19th July 2020, in Whitstable, Kent, England. A group of local volunteers and council cleaner will soon arrive for the regular morning clean-up that has got worse, they say, during the Coronavirus pandemic lockdown and now, the slow easing of health guidelines.
